Aircraft Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Popular California Beach
A helicopter flying above a well-attended California coastline suddenly started spinning out of control, ultimately descending rapidly and crashing into a row of palm fronds as onlookers observed.
Videos posted on social media capture the aircraft starting to spin near the shoreline then falling near the edge of the beach, where it ends up lodged amidst palms and a set of stairs close to the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Update
Emergency responders said five people were transported to a medical facility comprising two who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the incident on the weekend.
Three people on the street were harmed. Details on their condition were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
